Manufactured in 1956, the first year of production for the post war Single Action Army revolver, featuring the standard blade front and square notch rear sights, casehardened frame, polished hammer sides and black checkered Rampant Colt and American Eagle grips. One line barrel address on top, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" on the left side and standard patent and Rampant Colt marking on the left side of the frame.

Excellent. The revolver retains approximately 90% of the original blue finish with a gray patina and blue mix on the ejector rod housing, trigger guard and front strap. The back strap has a smooth brown patina with blue at the top. The cylinder shows edge wear and minor scratches. The frame retains approximately 85% of the original fading case colors. The grips are excellent with only slight handling marks.
