This is a Spanish Officer's “jipijapa” straw campaign hat from the Spanish-American War. Dark reddish tan color. Brim held up on one side by a fabric National Cockade with horizontal and vertical silver bullion with flat, silver button at center with crossed lances and swords. Single white band on edge of underside of brim.

Good with a few small sections of straw missing from the brim and a small hole on the back of the crown. The cockade exhibits some minor fraying.
