1) The unbound pages measure 17" by 12" and are a complete set of "Harper's Pictorial History of the War with Spain". The pages are unbound due to originally being sent out as a short segment to be bound later. The series was published in 1899 while the war was still in progress. 2) The patriotic scrapbook measures 15" length by 12 1/2" width and has a brown cardboard cover. The cover has color illustrations of Admiral Dewey and the battleships Boston, Concord, Petrel, Raleigh, Olympia, and Baltimore. On the inside are newspaper clippings that relate to the war. 3) The decorative mirror measures 18 1/4" square and is a pressed metal over a wood back and is designed to be hung on the angle. The mirror says "Our Boys of '98" and depicts several soldiers doing different activities and also has an image of Dewey, Schley and the Maine. Three of the corners have decorative iron hat hooks. 4) The black handled straight razor blade has an etched design of the Maine and was made by "Wm Elliot & Co., Made in Germany". 5) The yellow straight razor with the image of a castle on the cover has the etched images of the Admirals "Sampson, Santiago", "Dewey, Manila", and "Schley, Santiago" on the blade. The razor comes with the original green paper box and the same image that is on the blade. 6) The yellow straight razor with the eagle on the cover has the banner "the Pride of America" etched into the blade.

1) Harper’s covers brittle. Contents about good as new. 2) All of the scrapbook paper is in fair condition and is discolored with minor breaking and tearing at the edges. 3) The mirror is in fair condition and has minimal discoloration and tearing on the back. 4), 5), and 6) The straight razors are all in fine condition. There is some trivial tarnishing on the blades and the handles have slight wear. 5) The original box does have some tears.
