Description:

Over 21 inches long with unusual and very fine scrimshaw work. Naval decoration with a portrait at the top of a bearded man over "OUR HERO - GENERAL / SHERIDAN". The opposite side is the depiction of a three masted sailing ship. A banner marked "PROPERTY OF SHIP BRUNSWICK" circles the entire horn just below. Other symbols include an American Eagle with shield, fig leaves and arrows. Portraits of three women, possibly Sheridan's wife and daughters, a violin on a banner and anchors. 1x1/2 inch mouth hole.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with many natural cracks with some full length splits repaired. Nicely done.
