Description:

1) A custom assembled and bound collection of publications relating to Admiral Dewey and the Spanish-American War. In a hardbound binding, containing a number of complete and cut-out magazines and a program for Dewey's reception in New York. 2) "Pictorial Atlas Illustrating the Spanish-American War", a hardcover publication of photos, maps and paintings relating to the war. 3) There is a copy of "Harper's Pictorial History of the War with Spain" in hardcover. 4) The Admiral Dewey glass canteen has a cork filled tin cap and "U.S." impressed into the glass on one side with a sepia tone image of Dewey on a blue background. 5) Pair of Spanish-American War badges, with backing cards. The first is a small medallion of Admiral Dewey with a flag ribbon, with the card marked "ADMIRAL GEO. W. DEWEY/ THE MAINE - FEB.15TH 1898/ MANILA BAY - MAY 1ST 1898./ DEWEY PIN - MADE FROM/ STEEL RECOVERED FROM/ THE BATTLESHIP MAINE". The other is shaped like a shell with a brass band around the rear, a red, white and blue ribbon, and the card is marked "MADE FROM CANNON FROM THE/ U.S. BATTLESHIP MAINE/ SUNK IN HAVANA HARBOR, CUBA./ FEB.15, 1898".

All of the items are in good condition with minor wear. 3) The cover on the book has separated but the binding still holds.
