Description:

1) Round canteen, metal construction, 9" wide, with triangular hanging rings, cork and metal stopper, leather and brass shoulder strap, and a tan canvas cover. The latter is marked on one side "E/ 35 MICH./ U.S./ VOLS.", with the reverse painted with a red 4-leaf clover at top, a white and brown eagle in flight with a green/gray olive branch at the bottom, and crossed American and Cuban flags, colored red, white and blue, with "E/ 35" above and "U.S./ V." below. The canteen is very good, with some cracking of the leather and wear on the canvas. Canteen actually is from the Civil War and was simply modified a bit for Indian War-Span Am use. 2) Khaki tan tunic, with lay down collar, detachable yellow shoulder straps, American eagle buttons and four front pockets. Faded, almost illegible inspectors ink stamps inside lining behind bottom right pocket. In very good to excellent condition, with staining and light wear.
