Description:

These revolvers are physically similar to the U.S. made revolvers with the exception of the barrel address which reads " ---ADDRESS COL.COLT LONDON---" and the addition of a "crown / GP" and "crown / V" proof mark on the left side of the barrel lug and the same proofs alternating between the percussion nipples on the cylinder. These revolvers were serial numbered in their own range of 1 to 42,000. This particular revolver is a Second Model with a steel grip frame and larger trigger guard. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT" and the complete serial number "41026" is marked on the loading lever, barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder and back strap. The partial serial number "1026" is marked on the wedge. Fitted with smooth one piece varnished walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

About good. All metal surfaces have a dark grayish patina with overall scattered minor pitting. The grips are fair. The right side has had a large piece broken off and repaired. There is an indentation in the area which would indicate heavy sanding. The left side has a couple of minor nicks and a small repaired, sanded area where the grip meets the frame. The cylinder scene is not visible, otherwise the markings are all clear and readable. The action is slightly out of time, but functions.
