Manufactured in the mid 1930s, this Specialty Grade L.C. Smith features a side lock action, 28 inch solid rib barrels with single brass bead sight on the matte rib, the chokes gauge improved modified and modified, 2 3/4" chambers with ejectors. The top rear of the right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH Specialty GRADE" and the left "HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. MFR'S FULTON, N.Y., U.S.A.". The barrels, triggers and trigger guard are blue, and the action and side plates are case hardened. The action, side plates, break lever and trigger guard are floral scroll engraved with ducks in a marsh scene on the right side plate and two quall in a field scene on the left. Double triggers and tang safety. The matching extra fancy forearm and pistol grip stock are checkered with a contrasting forend inset and hard rubber grip cap and partially serrated buttplate. Complete in a contemporary leather bound case with maker's label in the lid, 1930s vintage three piece wooden cleaning rod, a nickel oiler, two nickel snap caps, a jar of Fiendol oil base inhibitor, (contents dried up), and a period empty Marble's gun cleaning patches box sealed in plastic.

Excellent with the barrels retaining 99% blue finish with light muzzle wear. The action retains 98% of the original bright vivid case colors. The stock has been refinished and remains in excellent condition with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. The case and accessories are excellent.
