Description:

This is an excellent example of a Czech model 1938 double action only pistol designated P.39(t) by the German military. The pistol is complete with a black cowhide hard-shell holster and extra magazine. About 44,000 of these pistols were manufactured procured by the German Army and the Luftwaffe. The pistol is marked with the serial number on the left side of the frame and slide. The left side of the slide is marked: "CESKA ZBROJOVKA AKC. SPOL. V PRAZE." The right side of the frame is marked with the "CZ" logo followed by "E7, rampant lion proof, 39." The rampant lion proofmark also appears on the top of the slide just ahead of the rear sight and on top of the barrel chamber. Only a few late war P39(t) pistols were marked with German Army proofs and acceptance stamps. This pistol is marked only with Czech proofs. A large number of these pistols were sent to Finland. The grips are one piece checkered brown plastic with an encircled "CZ" logo in the center. The holster is nearly identical in configuration to the P38 holster. The back of the holster has an unreadable makers marking over "1919" and the flap is marked with the boxed "SA" Finnish marking.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 98% of the bright original high polished finish with minor wear on the muzzle, front of the frame and front of the slide. The right side of the frame and slide have a few very small areas of flaking and there are a few overall minor scratches. The grips are excellent with minor handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The holster is very fine showing little wear or use and tight stitching.
