Description:

One of approximately 100,000 produced. Fixed sights. Standard markings and features. Bright bolt. Two piece walnut stock with hand guard secured by single barrel band. The buttstock is marked below the sling slot "Crown/FAG/42" and above "SL/90963". The top of the buttplate is marked in a circle "RPM". Also features the original folding bayonet measuring 13". Complete with unmarked leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98%-95% plus original blue finish overall. The wood is excellent with scattered casual pressure marks and scratches and matches the rifle. If you ever wanted a late Carcano, this is probably one of the best.

Description:

It has the classic straight pull design that incorporated numerous design features intended for winter war fare. Most component parts including the barrel bands, barrel, receiver, bolt, ring, and magazine floor plate are marked with a "Swiss Cross". The top of the barrel and receiver are also marked with other various proofs, however, no importer mark. Fixed front sight with folding tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. The serial number is stamped and all matching on the left side of the barrel, receiver, bolt and box magazine. Full length stock secured by two barrel bands with finger groove under the sight, leather sling and a steel buttplate. Accompanying this rifle is a Schmidt Rubin series bayonet numbered "219727" on the hand guard. The blade measures 11" and 17" in total length. Makers name on one side of the ricasso "ELSENER/SCHWYZ" with a steel sheath.

Rating Definition:

Very good. 90% original blue finish remains on all metal surfaces showing some high edge wear with a few patches of isolated pin prick pitting and scattered handling marks. All markings are crisp. The wood is very good with some casual pressure marks and scuffs and has been lightly cleaned. The buttplate is pitted. The bayonet is like new.
