This is a very early pre ban SP-1 rifle made in approximately 1963/1964 with fixed post front sight and two position aperture rear sight. The lower receiver is marked with the Rampant Colt followed by "COLT / AR-15". "MODEL SP1" is marked above the serial number. Three prong flash hider, bayonet lug, synthetic handguard, stock and checkered pistol grip. This rifle has the early features of the chromed bolt, non-chromed bore, large headed-cross pin in the bolt carrier and no-trap in the buttstock. Magazine is missing. Complete with a black nylon sling.

Excellent. 99% finish remains with slight muzzle wear and handling marks. The stock, handguard and grip are excellent with minor handling marks. Checkering is sharp on the grip. The sling is excellent. The action is smooth.
