Introduced in 1976, this German-made pistol is equipped with Trijicon 3-dot night sights, American-pattern magazine release, serrated controls, and checkered wraparound walnut grips which have a miniature contemporary Department of Public Safety/ Texas Rangers badge impressed on each side. With the gun is a custom made basket weave pattern black leather holster/ magazine pouch, with the Texas Ranger badge pressed into the front and the rear marked "MAKER/ ***/ G. FROYD" and "TEXAS" around a star, and an extra magazine. Also with the gun is a letter dated October 22, 2000, on DPS/ Texas Ranger letterhead from Andrew Carter, Sergeant, Company A, which identifies this gun as having been carried and fired by him in the course of his duties as a Ranger. Sergeant Carter was named the American Police Hall of Fame Officer of the Year, 2000, for negotiating the surrender of Rafael Resendez-Ramirez, the "Railway Killer", ending a 2 year manhunt. Also included is the Sergeant's card and a collection of internet research on his exploits.

Excellent, retaining 98% of the original matte black finish, showing only some brightness on the leading edges, a polished sheen on the top of the chamber and a few minor handling marks. The grips are excellent, with sharp checkering. Holster is excellent, with some light pressure dents and supple leather. Superb action.
