This revolver bears a lot of resemblance to the Colt Model 1849 Pocket revolver. Most likely of German manufacture, this revolver has a very distinctive "sculptured" trigger guard. The revolver has no markings except for all but one screw hole is numbered with a different single digit number. The front sight has a base slotted into the barrel, the rear sight is a notch in the hammer, the wedge has a domed head and is without a retaining screw and there is an external spring added under the plunger of the navy style loading lever. The iron trigger guard bow has a slightly arched square back and the base is contoured and the hammer spur is rounded with a flat back side. The safety is a small hole between the chambers which is locked by a pin on the face of the hammer which is broken off. Fitted with checkered one piece walnut grips. Assembly numbers are present on all of the screws and next to their respective slots.

Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth gray patina with traces of the original blue on the back strap just behind the hammer. The grips are fine with a few minor nicks in the checkering as well as moderate wear and overall minor dents and dings. Except noted above, the action is fine. From the Will Hoffeld collection.
