This is an almost identical copy of the Colt Model 1849 Pocket. The blued barrel is unmarked. The 5-shot cylinder is engraved with a floral and scroll pattern. The loading lever, frame and hammer are casehardened and the grip strap and trigger guard are silver plated brass. No visible markings appear externally on this revolver. Finished with a one piece smooth walnut grip.

Fine. Approximately 40% original blue finish remains on the barrel the balance is now a mottled gray patina thinning along on high points with some overall handling marks and surface scratches. The loading lever displays some case colors and the latching end appears to have been repaired as the lever is bent downward approximately one half inch from the end. The frame shows vibrant flashes of original case colors the balance is now a mottled gray patina. The cylinder shows authentic use and is now a mottled gray/dark patina the majority of the engraving is smooth but still visible. The grip strap retains strong traces of original silver plating in sheltered areas the balance is a smooth mellow exposed brass The grips are revarnished with patches of varnish loss and a few pressure marks.
