Description:

This Model 1848 style revolver has no visible manufacture markings. The 5-shot cylinder is rolled engraved with the Ranger and Indian scene similar but not identical to that found on Colt produced Baby Dragoons and is script marked "colts / patent". There are no provisions for a loading lever. Rounded cylinder stops, pin front and hammer notch sights, square back trigger guard and fitted with a one piece grip. Matching serial number on the wedge, barrel, frame, trigger guard and backstrap.

Rating Definition:

Good with the metal surfaces having been cleaned at one time and now exhibiting a mottled bare metal patina. The brass retains most of the polished silver patina on the exposed areas and silvered out plating in the protected areas. The grips are good with chipped toes and some minor dents, nicks and scratches. The engraving is clear. Mechanically fine. From the Will Hoffeld collection.
