Produced mainly in Belgium, the term "Brevete" can be applied to any revolver made in Europe under license by Colt using one or more of their patents. The top flat at the breech is marked in white "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK" inside extra fancy brackets and "COLT'S PATENT" is marked in white on the left side of the frame. Both sides around the wedge area and flat side of the loading lever are lightly scrolled engraved and the 6-shot cylinder, frame and silver plated brass trigger guard and back strap are engraved with a fancy geometric floral pattern. Equipped with brass pin front and notch hammer nose rear sights. The revolver is absent of proof markings. Fitted with a smooth ebony one-piece grip. Matching serial number on barrel, frame and trigger guard. The loading lever is unmarked and the wedge is marked with the partial serial number (1577).

Good with the metal exhibiting a smooth dark patina. The loading lever exhibits heavy pin prick pitting, otherwise there is some light pin prick pitting overall. The wedge area and loading lever engraving is slightly faint, otherwise the engraving is clear and crisp. The grip is fine with much of the varnish present. Mechanically fine.
