Description:

Produced between 1857 and 1860. Silver blade and frame notch sights, with the one line Springfield address on the rib. Hammer has been hand recheckered and bent to current angle, with a smooth spur trigger, small side plate and square butt grips with the right panel numbered to the gun and what appears to be a Social Security number added to the left side of the font strap with electric pencil.

Rating Definition:

Good, with approximately 30-40% of the original silver finish present on the frame. The barrel and cylinder have turned a dark gray patina, with traces of nickel in the protected areas, tool marks concentrated around the latch, and small areas of spotting. Silver is visible on the frame, concentrated around the cylinder and trigger shroud, with dings and scratches on the silver and the well aged brass. Grips are undersized and refinished, with inserts on the inside and darkened paint. Action is very good.
