Marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y." on top of the barrel rib. Extractor, screws, hammer, barrel release and trigger are niter blue, the remainder is gold plated. Scroll and punch-dot engraving is visible on the sides of the barrels and frame, with zigzags and starbursts on the backstrap, and a "BL" monogram ahead of the trigger. Marked on the right side of the lower barrel is "BGL 89". "BGL" is most likely the initials of the engraver, quite possibly Ben Lane. Smooth fancy burl walnut grips, with a gold 5-pointed star badge professionally gold inlayed into the left panel.

Custom embellished, with approximately 85% of the gold finish. Bright steel is visible on the underside of the lower barrel, the frame, and the front strap, with additional brightness on the barrel rib and high edges. Engraving is crisp and sharp. Niter blue is strong, with minimal loss. Grips are near mint, with a few minor pressure dents. Action is excellent.
