Description:

Manufactured from 1874 to 1878, this model is also known as the 3rd Model Russian. The most notable differences in appearance from the 2nd Model are the large knurled cylinder retainer screw on the top strap, shorter ejector rod housing under the barrel and the integral front sight blade as opposed to the pinned version, as well as the 6 1/2" barrel vs. the 7" of earlier Russian Models. Blade front and latch notch rear sights, with the one line "RUSSIAN MODEL" markings on the solid rib flanked with Maltese crosses. Latch and cylinder are both numbered "418", with matching assembly number on the right side of the grip frame and the serial number on the butt with the boxed "1874" mark and "P". Checkered casehardened hammer and smooth trigger, with the distinctive trigger guard spur and backstrap knuckle, along with smooth walnut grips, right panel numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the nickel, showing patches of gray patina, small areas of pitting, a replacement insert in the front sight, and scattered scratches and spotting. Grips are very good, with some mild pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
