Manufactured from 1878 to 1912, with arms of this style exported to Japan via Takata & Company in the 1880's and 1890's. Pinned half moon front and latch notch rear sights on barrel with the two line "REISSUE" address and patent dates flanked by Maltese crosses. Matching numbers on the barrel, cylinder and butt, the latter with the plain anchor stamp associated with Toyokawa Naval Base. The latch is numbered "24898". Checkered hammer, smooth trigger, and checkered walnut grips. A set of three notches are visible on the left side of the frame behind the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very good with approximately 40-50% of the dull blue contract finish, strongest on the barrel with a mixed brown and gray patina showing on the remainder, along with some scattered dents and pitting. Grips are good, with some chipping and flat spots, with smoothing of the checkering. Action needs adjustment.
