Often referred to as the "Baby Russian", this top break, auto ejecting revolver is chambered for the S&W 38 centerfire cartridge. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates and the serial number is marked on the butt and rear face of the cylinder. Five-round cylinder, pinned blade front sight, notch rear sight, all nickel finish with casehardened hammer, blue trigger, barrel latch and hinge spring, and fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips with "S&W." in an oval at the tops. Complete in an original green hinged lid box. The label on the lid reads "SMITH & WESSON / picture of revolver / No. 38. / Automatic Ejector. / SPRINGFIELD, MASS.". The inside of the lid has the directions for use label affixed.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99.5% of the original nickel with only light handling marks and a couple of light surface scratches. The left grip panel has faded to brown, otherwise the grips are in new condition. Sharp markings. Mechanically tight as new. The box is good with some flaking on the label and the hinge strap appears to have been re-glued and some time and is beginning to come loose. The entire inside lid label remains.
