This is an excellent example of a later production manufactured between 1914 and 1951 This shotgun features a full engraved side lock action, single brass bead on the solid matte rib with extension, chambered for 3" shells, choked full and modified, with extractor. The action, side plates, break lever and tangs are casehardened and the barrels and trigger guard are blue. The action, break lever and trigger guard are engraved with a broad leaf and punch-dot patterns with "L.C. SMITH" on each side of the action. The top of the right barrel at the breech is marked "L. C. SMITH Ideal GRADE" with outward pointing arrows at each end. The underside of each barrel is marked "LONDON STEEL" under the forearm. Tang safety, single select trigger and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm with an ebony insert. The stock has a black hard rubber grip cap and vented Pachmayr White Line recoil pad.

Excellent. The barrels and trigger guard retain 98% of the original blue finish with some minor thinning on the breech and muzzle ends of the barrels and some edge wear on the trigger guard. The remaining parts retain 99% bright original case colors with some slight fading to gray on the underside of the frame. The wood is excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
