This is a very nice example of a later production engraved L.C. Smith hammerless shotgun manufactured between 1914 and 1951. The shotgun features double ivory bead sights on the matte solid rib, chambered 3', choked modified/cylinder with ejectors. The top of the right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH - 410 GA. - Ideal - FULTON, N.Y. U.S.A.". The barrels and trigger guard are blue and the frame, side plates, break lever and tangs are casehardened. The shotgun has a full side lock action, single trigger with sliding selector mounted to the right of the trigger. The action, break lever and side plates are engraved with a broad leaf design and punch dot background. The side plates and forward lower tang are bordered with a zigzag pattern and each side plate is marked "L.C. SMITH". The trigger guard has simple heart designs and there is a simple pattern on the upper tang. Tang mounted safety and mounted with highly figured checkered walnut forearm with Schnabel forend and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap, serrated buttplate, and gold initial oval on the bottom.

Very good to excellent, the barrels and trigger guard with 99% of the finish remaining. There is a very small spot on the trigger guard where the finish flaked off and there are light handling marks overall. The remaining metal surfaces retain approximately 95% of the original vivid case colors with some fading to gray on the bottom of the receiver. The revarnished wood is excellent with a few scattered very minor dings and handling marks. The checkering remains sharp. The markings and engraving are sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
