Manufactured in Germany, this shotgun is number 2 of a special edition of 100 Model 360/280SL cased two barrel sets. The barrels, break lever and trigger guard are blue and the receiver and forearm latch and hardware are silver gray. Number 1 barrels are 28 gauge, 28" with a single brass bead on the solid matte rib marked "2 of 100" at the breech and with a gold "1" on the extension. The right side barrel is marked "280 SL 28 GA" and the left is marked "GEBR. MERKEL SUHL / MADE IN GERMANY". Choked modified/improved cylinder, chambered 2 3/4" with ejectors. The second set of barrels is 28", 410 gauge with a brass bead on the matte solid rib marked "2 of 100" at the breech and a gold "2" on the extension. The right side barrel is marked "360 SL 410 GA" and the left side is marked identical to barrel number 1. Chambered 3", choked full/modified with ejectors. The receiver, trigger guard and break lever are lightly engraved with scroll patterns and scallop bordering done by Merkel master engraver Karola Knoth. The left side plate has a finely detailed wooded scene of a hunting dog on point with two woodchucks in the foliage nearby and the right side has four quail in a field scene. The left side plate is signed "Knoth" in script. The shotgun is equipped with a Greener Cross Bolt with double under barrel locking lugs, double triggers, automatic tang mounted sliding safety and Holland & Holland ejectors. Each set of barrels is mounted with Triple X fancy (Luxury Grade) checkered splinter forearms and matching straight grip (English) stock with a Merkel hard rubber buttplate. The shotgun is complete with the original box numbered to the gun and a pebble grain hard takedown case with leather edge and corner protectors, double key locks, leather handle and green velvet lining with a leather Merkel label affixed to the inside of the lid.

New in the box. The box and case are excellent with a few light scuffs on the case.
