Single nickel bead on the concave rib, marked "J.Y. POTTER . MAKER HIGH St KINGS LYNN", with scroll engraving at the breech and extensive proofs on the barrel flats. Birmingham and London proofs on the water table, with casehardened frame, "J.Y. POTTER" marked side locks and extensive scroll engraving. Checkered straight grip stock with engraved Schnabel tip forearm furniture, teardrop patterns behind the side locks, a silver initial plate on the underside and a checkered naked butt with engraved plates on the toe and heel.

Very good as refurbished with strong brown Damascus pattern on the barrels, with a few lighter spots and attractive brown overall. Some mild pitting is visible near the breech. The frame has turned a smooth silver, with some traces of original color in the protected areas. A patch of rust is visible on the heel plate. The refinished stock is excellent, with some mild pressure dents and strong varnish, mechanically fine.
