This rifle was manufactured in 1946 with an octagon barrel. Marked on the left side of the barrel "-WINCHESTER/ PROOF STEEL-" followed by "-MODEL 61-", "WINCHESTER / -TRADE MARK-" and "-22 SHORT.-". Two Winchester proof marks are located on the top of the barrel and receiver. The rifle features a dovetail blade front sight and an adjustable sporting rear sight, 3/4 length magazine tube, a 17 groove flat bottom slide handle with a smooth pistol grip stock and checkered metal buttplate.

Near mint as possibly factory refinished with 98% of aforementioned blue finish remaining with slight handling marks from the forend on the slide. Forearm and stock are near mint with few minor dings. Mechanically excellent.
