Produced in 1978, the first full year of production. Ramp blade front and adjustable notch rear sight, with one line address on top of the barrel and "COLT NEW FRONTIER SAA .45" on the left side. Flat top frame, crescent head ejector, two line patent marks on the left side of the frame next to the Rampant Colt. Checkered hammer, spur trigger and smooth flared butt grips with gold Rampant Colt medallions. With a pair of smooth laminate grips and a 9mm cylinder.

Excellent, 99% of the original blue finish, showing a few minor handling marks overall. Case colors are bright and vivid, and the grips show a few minor pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
