Manufactured in 1996, this Colt Custom Shop Single Action Army Revolver features Class "C" Expert Grade floral scroll and punch dot engraving covering the barrel, cylinder flats, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. In addition, a horses head is engraved on the left recoil shield and there is fancy border engraving on the backstrap, cylinder and left recoil shield. The breech and muzzle ends on the barrel have a geometric border. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address and the left side "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45". The left side of the frame is marked with two line, three patent dates and the left front of the trigger guard is marked with the "VP" triangle proof and the rear "O". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sight and hammer with polished sides. The frame is brilliantly casehardened and the remaining metal surfaces have the bright high polished Colt blue finish. The revolver is fitted with two-piece ivory grips with scallop bordered checkering with Jan Gwinnell under the grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, finishes, checkered ivory grips, factory engraving and that it was shipped as 1 gun Custom Shop Order # 5498 to Armsmear II, Anaheim, California, April 11, 1996. Also complete with the original two-piece blue Colt box and white outer box with Colt Custom Shop label indicating special order features and numbered to the gun.
