Description:

Manufactured in 1963, Colt manufactured approximately 3,900 of these Buntline Specials in 17 years. The "Buntline Special" was named after a dime novelist named Ned Buntline who supposedly gave this long barrel revolver to Wyatt Earp. The story is suspected to be purely legend, however Colt decided to take advantage of the market and produced the 12 inch barreled Single Action Army revolver from 1957 to 1974. Standard one line block letter address on top of the barrel and "COLT BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45" on the left side. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the stock number "BB3089" just ahead of the cylinder pin. This revolver has a casehardened frame and blue remaining parts. The grips are smooth walnut with "433" marked in white grease pencil on the inside of each panel. Complete with the original plain hinged lid black box with gold end label and "COLT" on the lid numbered to the gun. This revolver is consecutively serial numbered to the previous Buntline Special on this same page.

Rating Definition:

Near new, with only slight handling marks on the metal and a couple of very minor dings on the grips. The box is good with a broken corner on the lid and a section broken on the label end of the body.
