Description:

Manufactured in 1924, this is one of the "Transitional" 1911 pistols produced in the serial range of 700001 to 710000, which combine the upgraded features of the 1911A1 with the "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" slide marking seen on the 1911. Fixed sights, with the two line, two block address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, divided by the Rampant Colt, and the Army marking on the right side ahead of the port, "H" above the pin stop and matching serial number around the firing pin. Barrel marked with the conjoined "HP" on top, with the "P" and "F" lug markings of the Flannery Bolt Company. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the right side of the frame over the serial number, with Walter T. Gorton's "WTG" monogram on the left above the magazine release and a partially legible "Verified Proof" on the trigger guard bow. Wide hammer, elongated grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, dished out frame sides, checkered short trigger and checkered grips minus diamond designs. With a two tone magazine marked "B" on the toe.

Rating Definition:

Professionally refurbished, with 99% of the blue finish, with a thin gray line on the lower right side of the slide, dents on the left side of the trigger guard, the beginnings of a gray patina along the edges and minor handling marks. Grips are very good, with some light scratches. Mechanically excellent
