This rifle has been assembled. The top barrel flat is crudely stamped "WM. FLUITT KINGSTREE S.C. 1837". Light floral engraved lock plate, double triggers, fixed sights, brass crescent buttplate, birds eye maple full length replacement stock, raised cheekpiece and wood ramrod.

Assembled and restamped with most of the dull refinished black finish remaining with some covered blemishes, heavy pitting on the lock plate and some moderate pitting on the barrel at the breech. The replacement stock is crude with some minor scratches and chips and a large chip at the lock plate. The markings are clear.

The top of the barrel flat is marked with an ELG Liege proofmark along with an illegible marking and the lock plate is unmarked. Straight grip half stock with brass furniture and wood ramrod. Has a blade front sight.

Poor. The barrel has been cleaned bright at one time and now exhibits a smooth brown patina. The rest of the iron components have a smooth dark patina. The brass has a smooth aged patina. There is some moderate flash pitting. Therefinished stock is fair with a few minor cracks that are likely repairs and some mild handling marks, with a couple of moderate dents. There are a few moderate chips that have been partially filled with wood putty.
