Description:

Manufactured in 1903, the first year of production. Blade front and notch rear sights, with ""BROWNING'S PATENT" / APR. 20. 1897 SEPT 9. 1902." and "COLT'S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN U.S.A." in two blocks on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt in a circle at the rear next to the hammer, standard caliber markings on the right. Early style front slide serrations. Casehardened rounded hammer and black checkered grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and Rampant Colt in the center.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 20-30% of the original blue finish, strongest in the protected areas of the frame and towards the rear of the slide. The rest of the surface shows a mottled patina with significant pitting. Grips are good, with moderate scratches and pressure dents. Action is excellent.
