Description:

One of 926 Model 1905 Double Action Revolvers manufactured by Colt for the Marine Corps between 1905 and 1909. Model 1905 Marine Corps Revolvers saw hard service and are scarce in any condition. Fitted with a six inch barrel and standard two-piece checkered walnut grips. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 38" and the top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / PATENTED AUG 5 1884, NOV.6.88, MAR. 5, 95." The circled Rampant Colt is marked on the upper rear corner of the left side of the frame. The bottom of the butt is marked "U.S. / M.C." behind the lanyard loop and "No. / 722" in front of it. The assembly number "601" is stamped on the inside of the crane and frame. There are no other visible markings

Rating Definition:

Professionally restored, with virtually all of the high polish blue finish remaining with a few minor handling marks on the front grip strap and some covered blemishes. The grips are near mint with minimal handling marks. The checkering is sharp. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
