The receiver is marked with the standard five line patent dates followed by the four line Johnson Automatics address, caliber and model markings, and the barrel flange is marked ".30-06" above the barrel and "41" below it. An encircled, five-pointed star and "CRANSTON/ARMS/CO." in a triangle are marked on the right side of the receiver below the rear sight. The rear sight calibrations are, correctly, marked in meters on the side. Smooth two-piece walnut pistol grip stock, unmarked, with sling swivels and a checkered butt. With an eight inch spike bayonet, numbered 1197, with the original russet leather sheath.

Possible Arsenal or factory refinished, showing some mild wear along the high edges, patches of brown around the front sight, and signs of pitting on the receiver. Stock is good as repaired, with a large mended chip on the right side directly behind the magazine, scattered scratches and pressure dents. Action is excellent.
