This is an excellent example of a fully automatic M1A rifle as produced by Springfield Armory Inc. in Geneseo Ill. This rifle is the same basic version of the Government M14 rifle as used during Vietnam. It is currently fitted with a NM heavy weight barrel that is marked NM on the front exposed portion of the barrel and along the side, "SGW-9349847-11-83-308". It has a TRW bolt, and H&R operating rod, with the trigger housing marked "7267030-G". It has a standard front and rear sight set with a plastic GI stock. This rifle has the standard receiver markings of "U.S. Rifle/7.62MM-M1A/Sprinfgield Armory/026780". It is complete with a GI style, folding, all steel bipod, a Vietnam era nylon sling and one 20 round magazine.
