Description:

Late production M1 Carbine produced by the Inland Division of General Motors. Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight stamped "PI". Inland barrel dated "8-44", with the Type One barrel band. Standard receiver markings, with the round blued bolt, "M" marked magazine release and push-button safety with an Inland trigger guard and post-war type V slide, with drawing number. Smooth low wood pistol grip stock with an ordnance cartouche on the right buttstock, "IO" in the stock cutout, and under the four rivet handguard. Green canvas sling (no oiler), and checkered flat buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, with 98% of the parkerized finish, showing some bright wear along the muzzle and mild handling marks overall. Stock is very good as reoiled with pressure dents and scratches on the underside of the forearm and the left side of the wrist and butt. Action is excellent, missing the magazine.
