The Pre-Woodsman Model was manufactured from 1915 to 1927 and prior to the "Woodsman" name. This particular pistol was manufactured in 1924. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address / 1903 and two 1918 patent dates. The front sight is elevation adjustable and the rear sight is adjustable for windage. The pistol has the correct checkered oval on the mainspring housing which is characteristic of the Pre-Woodsman models. The pistol has a blue 10 round unmarked magazine and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. Complete with the original hinge lid box numbered to the gun with end labels marked "TARGET" and "COLT AUTOMATIC PISTOL / Long Rifle .22", "Special Instructions" sheet and manual.

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 95% of the original finish with a moderate scratch/scuff on the barrel, thinning on the slide and back strap, a small area of flaking on the right side of the frame some high edge wear and minor handling marks. The grips are excellent and show minor wear and a couple of minor bruises; the checkering is crisp. The markings remain sharp, and the action is excellent. The box is fair with two torn corners on the lid, moderate to heavy edge and corner wear and a few areas where the outer covering is missing. The end labels are intact.
