Barrel: 3-1/4 inch octagon
Finish: nickel/silver
Grip: ivory

Item Views: 553
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 99
Class: Antique
Description:

Substantially identical to the Manhattan marked type but with the solid rib marking " AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL Co. NEWARK, N.J." Brass silver plated frame, casehardened hammer and the remaining metal nickel. The sides of the frame and backstrap feature a scroll engraving with punch dot background, with a frontier Indian battle scene on the 7-round non-fluted cylinder. Fitted with smooth ivory grips. Matching barrel and frame number.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (barrel and cylinder) with approximately 97% of the dull nickel finish with some minor flaking mainly on the cylinder. The hammer retains most of the bright case colors and the frame retains virtually all of the current silver plating with some high edge wear. The grips are excellent with some very light age cracks mostly concentrated around the screw holes. The scroll engraving is clear with a strong cylinder scene remaining. The rib marking is clear and crisp.

B) American Standard Single Action Pocket Revolver

Catalog Page: 99
Class: Antique
Description:

Substantially identical to the Manhattan marked type but with the solid rib marking " AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL Co. NEWARK, N.J." Silver plated brass frame, casehardened hammer and the remaining metal blue. The barrel assembly tips upward for loading, seven round unfluted cylinder, spur trigger and smooth grips.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel and cylinder exhibit a smooth gray patina. The brass retains strong traces of original plating in the protected areas. There is moderate pitting on the cylinder. The grips are very good with minor bottom edge wear, some minor scratches and some minor circular pressure dents on the butt. Mechanically fine. The markings are clear.
