Description:

Standard marker/patent date (1859) circular left frame marking and address circular right frame marking. Features a bead front sight, straight frame, straight grip to frame juncture, frame notch sight and gutta percha grips with scrollwork. Blued barrels and nickel frame. With contemporary wood case fitted for the derringer.

Rating Definition:

Good as partially refinished, with the frame retaining 90% of the current nickel finish with some light frost and the front grip strap cleaned to bare metal. There is some minor pitting finished over. The barrels exhibit a smooth gray patina with a smooth dark patina in the protected areas. The markings are beginning to fade. There are some grind marks on the butt, otherwise, the grips are very fine with minimal handling marks overall. The scrollwork is sharp. The action needs work; hammer spring is weak and it does not function when the trigger is pulled.

Good, as refinished with the barrels retaining approximately 98% of the current blue finish with some covered pin prick pitting. The frame retains approximately 95% of the current nickel finish with some minor flaking and limited deep pitting.
