Description:

A unique venture for the Marlin Company, this lever action shotgun is based on the Model 1883 action with a longer loading port, modified tube magazine that holds 5 shots and a smoothbore barrel chambered for the .410 shot shell, full choke. Unmarked barrel with a single bead front sight and "Marlin / 410" marked on the upper tang. Plain pistol grip stock, finger groove forearm, casehardened lever and fitted with a checkered hard rubber Marlin buttplate. Manufactured between 1929 and 1932.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and magazine tube exhibit half of the faded original blue finish mixed with a mottled brown patina with some streaks of smooth gray patina. There is a minor dent on top of the barrel. The frame retains approximately 95% of the blue finish mixed with the beginnings of a smooth brown patina. There are surface scratches that appear to be from steel wool on the sides and light edge wear. All metal surfaces exhibit some moderate surface rust. The wood is fine with some minor to moderate scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
