German silver blade front and notch rear sights with light scroll engraved upper tang. The top flat of the breech is marked ''DERINGER / PHILADELA'' and "P" with flanking zig-zag engraving on the left flat and a pair of silver bands at the breech. An additional ''DERINGER / PHILADELA'', double stamped, is marked on the lock plate that is also engraved, along with the side of the hammer, trigger guard, accent plate and reverse plate, with a burst pattern on he bolster, zig zag borders on the shield escutcheon and buttplate, floral designs on the escutcheons, scale pattern hammer top, and pineapple finial. Located behind the tang, the shield is inscribed "E L/ 1". The stock is checkered fancy walnut with a triangular inlay on the tip and a bird's head butt.

Fine. The barrel shows an even mix of brown and bright gray, the latter strongest on the high edges and muzzle. A mixed gray patina is showing on the hammer, tang and lock, with a green residue in the space between the lock and accent plate. Silver is fine, with a polished area on the initial shield, a small amount of residue between the trigger and finial, and a mixed aged patina overall. The stock is very good, with a few tiny chips around the metal and scattered pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
