A pair of British cased and proofed Colt Third Model Deringers. The pistols are nickel-plated with casehardened (high) hammers, niter blue triggers and screws and two-piece ivory grips. The tops of the barrels are roll-stamped "-COLT-" in 3/16-inch letters. British "Crown/V" and "Crown/P" proof and inspection marks are stamped on the underside of each barrel. The British style oak case has a brass disk on the center of the lid and six brass reinforcing screws on the top. The case interior is lined with blue velvet and a engraved label printed with "Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co./14 Pall Mall S.W./London" glued to the inside of the lid.

Excellent. The pistol retains nearly 98% of the original nickel-plated finish. Finish wear is limited to some very minor flaking on the left sides of the barrel. The hammer retains 95% or more of the original casehardened finish and the trigger has about 85% of the fiery niter blue. The ivory grips have a very attractive age patina and are in excellent condition with no cracks or shrinkage. The barrel markings and proofs are sharp. The case is in very good condition with some minor storage marks on the top and sides. The interior is in good condition, the lining is somewhat dirty and there are some compression marks and oil stains on the bottom. There are two small tears in the lining of one side of the case from contact with a front sight blade. The London Agency label is discolored with oil stains.
