Description:

Manufactured from 1871 to 1888. Blade front sight with rear sight being a hole in the cocking lever. Magazine loads from the muzzle end. Standard two line address and patent markings on top of the barrel rib which reads "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. / RIDERS PAT. AUG. 15, 1871". Casehardened cocking lever, blue hammer and scroll and leaf engraving with zigzag border work and punch dot backgrounds. Fitted with smooth two piece rosewood grips with a bird's head butt.

Rating Definition:

Near excellent. Approximately 95% of the nickel finish is remaining, with flaking and spotting visible on the magazine and the left side of the frame, along with some scattered handling marks and pitting around the grips. The grips are fine, with light pressure dents and minimal varnish loss. Action needs minor work.
