Produced between 1864 and 1869 by Merrill Patent Firearms Company, using Eben T. Starr's patent. Silver cone front sight and notched standing breech. Marked "STARR'S PAT'S/ MAY 10, 1864" around the hammer screw on the left side, with punch dot engraving on the right side of the hammer, a small notch in the rear of the firing pin to indicate striker position, checkered button trigger and smooth walnut grips with a flared butt.

Rating Definition:

Fine. Approximately 40% of the original blue finish remains on the barrels, with a gray patina on the high areas of the sides and some pitting on the front of the muzzle. Traces of the original silver remains visible on the frame, strongest on the left side of the frame and in the protected areas, showing a fine aged patina on both the silver and brass. Grips are very good, with some minor pressure dents and light varnish loss on the butt. Mechanically excellent.
