This is an early 1935 German Army "G" date, S/42 code with a holster and belt. The pistol and holster are accompanied by a letter from the consignor stating that the items were bring backs by his father Lt. Colonel Joseph E. Foley after his tour of duty in the European campaign. Colonel Foley was the Commander of the 48th Engineer Battalion in the fall of 1945. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with a "W154" with a line at the top and bottom followed by "? 92" with the same lines followed by the droop wing eagle proof. The eagle proof is also marked on the right rear of the barrel. "G" marked over the chamber, "S/42" on the toggle and droop wing eagle on the left side of the toggle. The barrel, frame and left side of the barrel extension have matching serial numbers and "28" marked on all the small components. Blue finish with straw colored small parts, checkered grips and nickel magazine with wooden base and no markings. Complete with an original black leather holster marked with a large "P08" over a smaller one at the upper rear and "bml/41" over "eagle swastika ' WaA 918" between the loops. The belt is brown leather with a pot metal "GOTT MITUNS" buckle. Has incorrect wood bottom magazine in the gun.

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 90% of the original finish with wear and thinning on the barrel, high points of the side plate and right side frame rail. Approximately 40% of the original straw colors are present. The front and backstraps show some light minor spotting. There are a few minor dings and scratches on the take down lever and left side frame rail. The grips are fine. The right panel has some glue residue where it appears that a plaque was affixed at one time, otherwise there are a few minor handling marks and the checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The belt is good showing moderate wear and tight stitching. The holster is very fine with some minor scratches and scuffs, light wear and tight stitching.
