This factory engraved 7-shot revolver is marked "BLUE JACKET No. 1/ PAT. MARCH 28, 1871." on top of the frame. The patent date and the vertical lever cylinder pin catch on the left side of the frame identifies it as the product of Hopkins and Allen Manufacturing Co. of Norwich, Ct. Scroll and punch-dot engraved frame, leaf type engraved barrel sides, line engraved patterns on top of the barrel, barrel sides at the muzzle, top strap and backstrap. Fitted with bird head grips.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains approximately 99% of the original nickel finish with some minor frost and some light flaking. The grips are excellent with some minor scratches and light edge wear. The markings and engraving are clear and crisp.
