Description:

Marked "ADDRESS E. WHITNEY / WHITNEYVILLE CT." on the top strap over the cylinder and "BEALS PATENT / SEPT 1854" on the left side of the frame. The seven shot cylinder has notches at the front and rear edges. The "walking beam" is operated by the ring trigger and pushes against the front row of notches when the trigger is pushed forward and the rear row when it is pulled. In its rear position it pressed the sear, dropping the hammer and firing the gun. The hammer must be cocked before the trigger can be operated. Pin front sight and notch rear sight, checkered hammer, ring trigger and smooth two piece grips.

Rating Definition:

Good, with a brown patina showing on most of the surface, a bright gray along the high edges, scattered dings and pitting on the frame around the cylinder. Grips are very good, with a fingernail width ding on the right panel and minor pressure dents. Action functions, but is out of time.
