Manufactured between 1866 and 1878. Two barrels in a solid block, each with its own brass half moon sight. Both barrels are chambered for the scarce .41 rimfire cartridge. Total quantity is estimated at under 400 with this barrel configuration. Marked "AMERICAN ARMS CO. BOSTON, MASS." on the top of one barrel, "PAT. OCT. 31. 1865-JUNE. 19. 1866" on the other. Silver plated brass frame and equipped with a smooth spur trigger and a checkered hammer. Fitted with checkered ivory square butt grips.

Fine. The barrel block retains approximately 25% of the original blue finish, mostly in the protected areas, with a smooth gray patina on the exposed surfaces. There is some pin prick pitting and some light surface rust. The frame retains approximately 97% of the original silver plating with some minor flaking and fine surface scratches. There is a rough patch on the front grip strap near the trigger. The grips are excellent with a few minor age cracks. The checkering is sharp. The markings are clear and crisp.
