Made between 1864 and 1869. Bead and notch sights on barrel group with scroll and punch dot engraving, which is continued onto the frame. "32 CAL." on the right side of the frame and "STARR'S PAT S/MAY 10. 1864" in a circle around the side plate on the left side of the frame. Checkered convex trigger face. Smooth square butt bone grips.

Partially refinished, showing a mixed artificial gray patina on the high areas of the barrel group, darker in the protected areas, with very light pitting and handling marks. A pleasing aged color is visible on the frame, with a few dark traces of silver in the lower areas and mild dents. Grips are slightly undersized period replacements, with mild age cracking and attractive color. Action is good.
