Manufactured from 1871 to 1888. Blade front sight with rear sight being a hole in the cocking lever. Magazine loads from the muzzle end. Standard two line address and patent markings on top of the barrel rib which reads "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. / RIDERS PAT. AUG. 15, 1871". Casehardened cocking lever, blue hammer and scroll and leaf engraving with zigzag border work. Fitted with smooth two-piece grips with a birds head butt.

Excellent, with approximately 97% of the original nickel finish, showing a light dent on the right side above the grip, a few areas of light flaking, and a red tinge to the low areas of the engraving and the dent. Mild frosting is also present. Grips are very good, with a number of minor pressure dents. Action is fine.
